Sunny Afternoon Games for The Color Room #150 & S4H May Challenges

Hello all! Here's a layout with a photo of a sunny spring afternoon when my son and I were visiting my parents. They are recently retired and have lots of outdoorsy and other hobbies. My son and I got to enjoy their super active lifestyle a bit, when they took us to try both bowling and golf on the same day! And when we got home there was still this old Fortuna game to try. My son did pretty well and at age five, he's quite into all kinds of games and sports right now. He does not yet take losing very well, though!



Kuva on parin viikon takaa, kun vietimme poikani kanssa pari päivää vanhempieni luona. Saimme maistaa tuoreiden eläkeläisten touhukasta elämäntyyliä, kun he veivät meitä tutustumaan harrastuksiinsa. Tässä oltiin samana päivänä oltu kokeilemassa keilailua ja golfia, ja kotiin tultua otettiin vielä esiin vanha Fortuna-peli. 5-vuotiasta kiinnostavatkin juuri nyt kaikenlaiset pelit ja urheilut. Vielä on vaan vähän vaikea niellä sitä, kun on muiden vuoro voittaa!

In Scrap for Help, there's always a recycled product you must use each month, and this May it was napkins. I used them in two ways. First I gessoed one onto the background, which toned the patterned paper closer to the aqua of the colour challenge. The middle layers of 3-ply napkins are good, if you just want a light colour and pattern.

Scrap for Help -haasteen kuukauden kierrätystarvike oli servetit, joita käytin sekä taustapaperiin gessottuna että chipboard-nappien koristelussa. Halusin himmentää paperin alkuperäistä kuviota ja saada siihen enemmän värihaasteen vaaleaa vedensinistä. Kolmikerroksisen servetin keskimmäinen kerros on hyvä, jos haluaa vain ihan hiukkasen kuviota ja väriä.





I also covered three chipboard circles with napkins (by Marimekko) to make colour coordinated embellishments.

Puupahvipyörylöiden päällystämiseen käytin päällimmäistä ja keskikerrosta samasta Marimekon servietistä, ja vaaleansininen on silkkipaperia. Maalasin ensin kuviot valkoisella ja kiinnitykseen käytin decoupage-lakkaa.



And changed the colour of the flower a bit to match to blue in the photo. The inner flower is hand crocheted. It was fun to join a colour challenge, and I hope to do it soon again!

Väritin kukkaa akryylimaaleilla hieman lähemmäs valokuvassa olevaa sinistä. Keskellä oleva kukka on käsin virkattu. Olipa hauskaa vaihtelua osallistua värihaasteeseen, ja odottelenkin jo uusia värejä!
