Happiness Is, My Boys and Me
Hello again! Here's a layout I scrapped with a photo from last winter. I'm dressed up as a fancy lady here, playing with my firstborn. We were also already looking forward to the arrival of his little brother, which took place a month later, so now we are a happy family of two boys! Oh yes, three if you count their father as well!
I haven't taken part in any Girl or Boy themed challenged previously, because I'm not comfortable with the traditional views of masculinity and femininity this kind of theme challenges often portray. To say it in short, choosing the colours and embellishments based on the gender of the people in the photos is not my thing! However, I've found a slightly different challenge that I liked! It's called Challenge YOUrself. The point is to always scrap photos with yourself in them, but there are different monthly themes regarding what else there should be.
The June theme is "Oh Boy!" where the prompt is to create a layout about you and the male(s) in your life. This could be your father, grandfather, husband, son, a pet even. I could have picked a photo of the whole family, but this was a photo I had been wanting to scrap a while so it worked really well, too!
By the way, in this challenge I also like the fact that the reveals are posted on the 7th of each month and submissions are due by the 4th of following month, which means you can post your link a few days later than in most of the monthly challenges!
I made this layout with another challenge in mind, too, namely the 123 Get Scrappy! I didn't finish in time to enter their Linky, but here's a link to that challenge anyway! It's a fun one if you enjoy tic-tac-toe or bingo board formed challenges. My row of inspiration was Pearls, Woodgrain and Modelling Paste.
Hei taas!
Inspiraationani oli myös123 Get Scrappy -haasteen bingorivi helmet − puunsyiden kuvio − rakennepasta. Seuraava bingoruudukko 10.7. − täytyypä muistaa käydä kurkkaamassa!
